Hand made oak platter 345mm diameter 40mm deep underside coated with 3 coats carnauba wax polish, top rim is painted in metallic copper with a Celtic knot pattern engraved into it, then coated with many coats of lacquer and polished.
Hand crafted piece
This is a unique one off, because I will not be doing it again! It took many hours to make mostly waiting for paint / lacquer to dry before applying the next coat, but as it was occupying my lathe and due to dust issues my entire workshop, it is effectively 6 days of work to create this piece.
However the process was enjoyable and it is Christmas week so pleasure overtakes work.
